Children’s sprint races return to Grasmere Sports after approx 10 years.
Children's Sprint Races - 70 YARDS (Grand Arena, Track as below) All children Register on the day in the Pavilion Office. No entry fee.
Prizes for final 6 in both boys and girls. Heats will be held if more than 6 entries in each group
5/6 Year Old Boys and Girls in separate heats. (TRACK A) (Entries close 10.35hrs)
7/8 Year Old Boys and Girls in separate heats. (TRACK A) (Entries close 10.50hrs)

NOTES
Featured this year
- A display by the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team and a simulated mountain rescue with a RAF Sea King and the Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team. The Sea King will land after the display and be on display to the public. Further details on the Falcons and the Sea King can be found on the web.
- Additionally, there may be a flypast by RAF aircraft during the day, subject to weather and RAF agreement.
- Horses in Harmony - The Justine Pendlebury Classical Dressage Display Team provides a display of teams of 2, 3 or 4 horses and riders dressed in traditional Portuguese attire. The showhorses provide a fine exhibition of dressage and elegant precision riding. Willoughby, the small pet Shetland Pony, repeats some of the moves in miniature.
- Sheepdog Display - Tom Longton demonstrates his training methods and the close relationaship between man and dog, when rounding up sheep and ducks with his Border Collies.
- Starting at 10.30, a Paragliding Spot Landing Competition will take place all day into the adjoining field to the North (K on the Field Plan) - Weather permitting
- Throughout the Day a Wordsworth Trust programme of readings, workshops and activities takes place in Marquee 51
- Due to unforeseen circumstances the Mountain Bike Events have been withdrawn for this year.
